We have finished another activity within our Erasmus+ project “Young journalists today – responsible digital citizen tomorrow”. On 23.12.2021 our school organized a roundtable discussion on the topic “Young people and media”. The activity started at 17:30 and was held online using MS Teams platform.
The panelists were the following experts in media literacy, who spoke about different aspects on the given topic each within her domain of expertise:
- Dr. Zhaneta Trajkoska from IKC (Institute for communication studies), who spoke about the quality of the information available in the media today, media literacy in education, young people and media today
- PhD Filijana Koka, editor in MTV (Macedonian Television) and vice president of the Association of journalists in N.Macedonia, who spoke about the situation with the television programs for children and young people (films, series, radio, documentaries)
- Ksenija Trajcheva-Makazlieva, editor in the magazine “Nash Svet”, who spoke about the printed and digital magazine for students and young people
The roundtable was moderated by Valentina Petrova, teacher of Macedonian language and member of the media group in our school, who also talked about our school digital paper. Our members of the media group in our school also took part in the discussion by giving their opinions and asked some of the questions to the experts during the discussion.
The roundtable was visited by our teachers, students and their parents as well as members from the local community and wider.
