Literary event on 21st February – International Mother Language Day

Last year on 21st February – International Mother Language Day, our school OOU Lazo Angelovski announced a literary competition on the topic: “Gracefulness towards our mother tongue – our duty and holy right”. Students from the 3rd to the 9th participated in this competition and their authentic works were divided into two categories: poetry (for students from 3rd to 5th grade) and prose text (for students from 6th to the 9th grade). Due to the online teaching and the situation with the corona virus, the event was held online last year on the Microsoft Teams platform, and this year it was held again for teachers and representatives from every department of our school.

On February 21, 2022, on the International Mother Language Day, a literary reading of the awarded works was held in the school hall. The literary reading was held by the drama section. The event began with a short presentation of the most prominent Macedonian writers, revivalists and educators. The presentation was prepared by students from 9-1 class. Then the school principal gave a short speech and invited the winners to pick up their prizes. After the awards ceremony, several members of the drama section gave a short performance to show the audience how important a mother language really is to a person. After this performance, all the winners read their works in which they demonstrated their love, respect and dignity of the Macedonian mother language.
