Our school has been a partner in the Erasmus+ KA229 project “Young journalists of today – responsible digital citizens of tomorrow” since 2019. The student exchanges that are a part of this project were postponed due to the Covid-19 pandemic until there were adequate conditions for them to be realized. In the period of 21-25.03.2022 the first student exchange took place where the school OS “Dositej Obradovich” from Chichevac, Serbia was the host school. The host school of the second student exchange was our school, OOU “Lazo Angelovski” from Skopje, N. Macedonia in the period of 11-15.04.2022.
On 11.04.2022 the students and teachers from Serbia, Croatia and Romania were introduced to our school and our Municipality. It was the first day of the exchange and we all had a lot of fun. The day begun with the welcome event in our school where the students and teachers from all three countries watched the performance done by the students from our school Drama and Dance club. All visitors were welcomed with a traditional custom of breaking and eating bread and salt that was followed by the drama performance in which different Easter customs, dances and songs were shown. The visitors were than taken for a short walk around our school yard, followed by the first activity from our agenda, the team building activity in order to get to know each other better.
After the short break, we continued with our next activity, a walk to the Municipality Aerodrom. When we got there, we were greeted by the mayor of the Municipality Aerodrom, Mr. Timcho Mucunski. All the visitors had the opportunity to ask the mayor any questions related to his work, the Municipality and the activities that are in their domain.
After the Municipality visit, the visitors had lunch in the “De Gama” restaurant and then we returned to our school where the groups from all four countries presented their presentations about or country, N. Macedonia. The topics covered in the presentations were about famous people in the past, such as Blazhe Konevski, different monuments, such as the Stone Bridge, the Kale Fortress and the Old Bazaar, as well as information about our capital city Skopje. The presentations were followd by a Kahoot quiz with 25 questions so we could check how much we have remembered from the information. The first place in the quiz was won by a student from Croatia, and the second and third place were won by students from Macedonia.
