Teacher Biljana Vučković held five workshops during March 2022: “Fake news”, “Privacy on the Internet”, “Media messages”, “Be an editor” and “Instruments of manipulation in the media”.
The workshop “Instruments of Manipulation in the Media” was held on March 3, 2022. In the workshop “Instruments of manipulation in the media”, students of 8/1 were introduced to the instruments of manipulation in the media and ways to recognize manipulation in the media. At the workshop, students had the opportunity to review media content and learn about how to recognize manipulation.
“Fake news” is a workshop that was held on March 7, 2022 for students in class 8/2, and the main goal was to motivate students to recognize fake news in the virtual world. The teacher gave the students appropriate guidelines, help and rules in recognizing such news. As part of the workshop, the students were given the task of recognizing fake news in a series of news stories in the virtual world.
The goal of the workshop “Privacy on the Internet” held in class 5/2 on March 10, 2022 was to make students better acquainted with the importance of privacy on the Internet. Students actively participated in the work, presenting their observations and impressions and ways to protect their accounts on social networks.
As part of the “Media messages” workshop, held on March 11, 2022, the students of 5/3 discussed the problems of creating and using stereotypes in the media and how stereotyped representations influence the attitudes of young people. At the workshop, students had the opportunity to review media content and discuss the messages of the media content.
The workshop “Be an editor” was held on March 14, 2022 with students of 8/3. The students talked with the teacher about what it’s like to be an editor and how to become a good editor. Through various examples, the students expanded their knowledge and gave several suggestions on how to improve text writing through the journalism section. /Biljana Vučković/
